^whole story check out the cite
About three hours before the crash on Gonzales, a 73-year-old Oxnard man was struck by a car and killed as he tried to cross Bard Road in Oxnard, Oxnard police said in a statement.
The pedestrian was identified as Maurilio Lopez, Stevens said.
Lopez was walking across Bard near Pleasant Valley Road at 5:49 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound car driven by Michael Santoro, 44, of Palmdale, police said.
Lopez was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, where he was pronounced dead at 6:12 p.m., Stevens said.
Investigators determined Lopez was walking south across Bard outside of a marked crosswalk when he stepped into the path of Santoro’s car, police said. The car was traveling at normal speed when it hit the man, police said.
The investigations into both fatal crashes are ongoing, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information about the Gonzales Road crash to call Senior Officer Maria Peña at 385-7750.

Traffic: At 6:46 a.m., the California Highway Patrol was not reporting any traffic collisions or hazards on county roadways.

under the weather

the cold weather is coming but the sun is still out. i hate getting sick during hot weather. i dont even get how that is possible????the running nose, soar throat, coughing, and sneezing. it all gets annoying and never seems to go away. i get a little better, and then it comes back again. i think i need a flu shot.

Where do I see myself in ten years? hmm i want to be a doctor(neonatology). so after i finish here at the Oxnard college of two years i plan to move to a four year university, then a four year medical school.if you add all those years together it adds up to about exactly TEN years. I'm looking up to the big challenge, and really excited. if it comes to not really making it that high, I'm going to try and keep getting as high as i can in the medical field.
